Director Health Services Jammu Reviews Healthcare in Doda
Doda, MAY 09: In order to review the healthcare scenario of the district, the Director Health Services Jammu Dr Rakesh Magotra conducted a comprehensive review of the initiatives and programmes of the health department during a meeting held at Doda on 09-05-2024.
The meeting was chaired by DHS Jammu during his maiden visit to Doda, which served as a platform to assess the progress and effectiveness of various healthcare schemes and to strategize the way forward in enhancing healthcare in the district. At the onset, Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Om Kumar gave a detailed presentation regarding the activities run by the health department.
During the meeting, Director Health Services Jammu Dr Magotra reviewed all the activities of health department and enjoined upon all the staff to work cordially in making all the GOIs scheme successful on ground, so that better and accessible health care facilities shall be given to the people at their door steps. The Director also reviewed and discussed the complete vaccination given in the district among Pregnant Women, newly born children in the District and asked to ensure that each pregnant women and new born be given all the necessary vaccination and services at the time of birth on priority basis.
Regarding the increase in institutional deliveries at block level, the Director directed all the BMOs to put in their best to utilizes the proper services of ASHAs to motivate the pregnant ladies to go for institutional & safe delivery, besides gave more emphasis on immunization,anti natal check up and wide awareness about family planning methods. The participants were also directed to hold regular awareness camps at panchayat levels to educate the masses regarding various health sector schemes.
The block with low performance were directed to review their work done and overcome shortfalls for proper implementation of centrally sponsored schemes. Moreover, the DHS Jammu directed the Chief Medical Officer and BMOs to put in extra efforts to achieve targets laid down under each programme.The DHS urged upon health functionaries to come up to the expectations of the patients and focus on quality, assured, accessible, affordable health care in the district.
Further, he said that punctuality of staff as well as maintaining hygienic conditions in health facilities is indispensable, and lackadaisical approach in this regard will not be tolerated.Earlier the DHS Jammu Dr Rakesh Magotra on reaching Doda was accorded a warm and rousing reception by the staff and students of ANMT Doda.
Those present in the meeting were MS GMC Doda Dr Tanveer Hussain, BMO Bhaderwah Dr Mohd Ashraf, BMO Gandoh Dr Ghansham Singh, BMO Ghat Dr Abdul Gafoor, I/c BMO Assar Dr Anil Kumar besides Incharge Schemes (All), DPMU and BPMUs NHM & other officials of the department.
