PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif Seeks Acquittal in Toshakhana Case

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo filed a plea for acquittal in the Toshakhana case, as reported by The Express Tribune. The petition, submitted by Nawaz’s counsel Rana Muhammad Arif Khan in Islamabad accountability court, seeks relief among those accused, including President Asif Ali Zardari and former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani.

The prosecutor representing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) informed the court of forwarding the application to NAB headquarters. The court issued notices for May 23 on Nawaz’s plea and adjourned the hearing till June 3. Earlier, NAB cleared Nawaz in a reference related to acquiring a luxury vehicle from the Toshakhana, citing Supreme Court instructions and lack of fund utilization from an alleged account associated with Nawaz for the vehicle purchase.
