Dengue Takes a Deadly Toll in Dehradun.
The Raipur area in Dehradun is currently in the grip of a devastating dengue fever outbreak, sending shockwaves through the community. What initially appeared as a minor concern has now spiraled into a major health crisis, with over 500 confirmed cases of dengue reported in this locality alone.
A Plea for Urgent Action.
The situation in Dehradun has grown increasingly dire, with 13 lives lost to this relentless outbreak. In response to the escalating crisis, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued stern directives to the Health Department and Municipal Corporations. These directives underscore the urgency of the situation and call for immediate and comprehensive efforts to combat the outbreak effectively.
Dehradun Emerges as the Epicenter
The gravity of the situation becomes evident when we consider that, out of the 1,106 reported cases of dengue in Uttarakhand, a staggering 58 percent are concentrated in Dehradun. This makes Dehradun the epicenter of the outbreak in the state, with other districts such as Haridwar, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar also reporting significant numbers of cases.
