The administration in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has taken a significant step towards ensuring clean drinking water access for all residents by allocating a substantial budget of Rs 487 crore until 2024 to achieve this goal.

An official informed the news agency KNO that out of the 224 planned works under various schemes, 223 have already been tendered, with letters of intent issued for all projects.

“Currently, 35,873 Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) have been provided, and efforts are underway to reach the target of 47,358 FHTCs,” the official said.

He mentioned that the response rate for the tendered works is an impressive 98.66 percent, with work already commenced on 220 projects.
