
Suspect in South Kashmir Hit-and-Run Incident Apprehended
In a swift response, the Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident in Awantipora, south Kashmir, within just one hour of the occurrence.
According to a statement issued by a police spokesperson, the incident occurred at Reshipora when a Dumper with registration number JK01AE-3177 struck a 10-year-old girl named Adeeba Arshid, who is the daughter of Arshid Ahmad Sheikh and a resident of Reshipora. The driver responsible for the accident has been identified as Mohd Haneef Khanday, the son of Ali Mohd Khanday, hailing from Meej Pampore.
The police swiftly responded to the situation, and their team successfully apprehended the accused driver within an hour of the incident.Simultaneously, the authorities have initiated legal proceedings in connection with the incident, invoking the relevant sections of the law. Additionally, the dumper involved in the accident has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
