    In response to a severe water crisis, the Karnataka Water Supply and Sewerage Board has banned the use of drinking water for car washing, gardening, construction, water fountains, and road maintenance. Violation of this order will result in a fine of Rs 5000. The move aims to conserve water resources during the crisis. Additionally, Bengaluru city district administration fixed prices for tanker water to prevent extortion, with rates varying based on distance. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar emphasized prioritizing irrigation and water management projects over other works to address the water scarcity.
