The Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, has successfully seized over 2.08 kg of gold in three distinct cases at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). The seizures, conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday, uncovered concealed gold in various forms, including clothes, check-in bags, door mats, dustbin bag wraps, and handbags.
Efficient Customs Operations at CSMIA
Officials from the Mumbai Customs Zone-III carried out the operations, showcasing their vigilance and efficiency in curbing smuggling attempts. The total value of the seized gold amounts to 1.14 crore, underscoring the significance of robust customs measures in preventing illegal trafficking of precious metals through major airports like CSMIA.
