Previously, a similar complaint was filed on February 3, leading the court to summon Kejriwal. Despite appearing virtually on February 17, he was exempted from physical appearance until March 16. However, ED officials argue that the court has not granted him exemption from facing the investigating officer. Kejriwal, in response, expressed his willingness to be questioned through video-conferencing after March 12, asserting that the ED’s summons were an attempt to pressure him into leaving the Opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) alliance.
