Akhilesh Yadav Joins Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Led by Rahul Gandhi
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has joined the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi as it passes through Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The move follows the recent seat-sharing deal between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, instrumental in finalizing the deal, is also present. This collaboration is a positive development for the Opposition bloc INDIA, with Akhilesh Yadav becoming one of the first key leaders to join the extensive footmarch.
Efforts to Heal Rift with Trinamool Congress
The Congress is working on reconciling with the Trinamool Congress, offering a modified plan that scales down ambitions in Bengal and proposes seats in Assam and Meghalaya. Despite earlier tensions, the new proposal aims to foster unity within the INDIA bloc.

Congress’ Seat Distribution in Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress will contest seats including Raebareli, Amethi, Varanasi, Kanpur Nagar, Fatehpur Sikri, Basgaon, Saharanpur, Prayagraj, Maharajganj, Amroha, Jhansi, Bulandshahar, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Sitapur, Barabanki, and Deoria. The move aims to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his constituency, Varanasi, and strengthen the Congress position in the state.
