Swift Action in Sopore Family Tragedy: Brother Arrested in Jammu and Kashmir Altercation
The authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have taken prompt action in response to the Sopore family altercation that tragically led to the death of a younger brother, as per officials on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson for the police, they were alerted on February 5, 2024, by reliable sources about a scuffle between two brothers in Wadoora. Abid Ahmad Bhat sustained serious injuries during the altercation when he was struck by his brother.
The police registered Case FIR No. 02/2024 under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station Bomai. Abid Ahmad Bhat was initially taken to SDH Sopore for medical attention and subsequently referred to SKIMS for further treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during the medical treatment on February 6, 2024.
“The medico-legal formalities for the deceased have been completed, and the accused, Tawseef Rashid Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat, has been apprehended in connection with the case. Section 302 of the IPC has been invoked, and the investigation is underway,” the spokesperson stated.
