Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi Appointed as New Army Vice Chief
Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi is set to assume the role of the new Army Vice Chief effective February 15, succeeding Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar. Lt Gen Dwivedi, previously serving as the Deputy Chief and Director General of Infantry at the Army Headquarters, brings his extensive experience to the position.
His appointment comes at a crucial time, amid ongoing military standoffs between India and China. Lt Gen Suchindra Kumar, his predecessor, will take charge at the Northern Army Command in Udhampur.
The new assignments for both officers will officially commence on February 15, as announced in the recent Army postings.
