Delhi Police Issues Notice to CM Kejriwal over BJP’s “Operation Lotus 2.0” Allegations
In a significant development, the Delhi Police Crime Branch issued a notice to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to buy AAP MLAs.
The notice seeks a reply from Kejriwal within three days. The AAP has accused the BJP of initiating “Operation Lotus 2.0” to topple the democratically elected government in Delhi. Atishi, an AAP leader, claimed that seven MLAs had been offered bribes, and the party possesses recordings of these conversations. The BJP has denied the allegations, calling them baseless.
Police Notice Amidst “Operation Lotus 2.0” Controversy
Amidst the controversy surrounding “Operation Lotus 2.0,” Delhi Police officials served notices to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP minister Atishi. The AAP has accused the BJP of contacting its MLAs to induce defection, offering bribes and threats. The police have sought evidence related to these claims. Atishi mentioned the BJP’s attempts to topple the Delhi government and claimed recordings of conversations, hinting at potential releases if necessary.
BJP Rejects AAP’s Claims, Labels Kejriwal a Liar
Responding to the AAP’s accusations, the BJP rejected claims of “Operation Lotus 2.0.” BJP leader Kapil Mishra accused Kejriwal of lying, emphasizing the lack of specific details in his statements.
