OnePlus 12 and 12R Pricing Leaked Ahead of Global Debut
With the upcoming global launch of OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R slated for January 23, US pricing details of these smartphones have surfaced online. The OnePlus 12, available in China, is anticipated to be a premium flagship device and could bear a higher price compared to its predecessor, while the OnePlus 12R might sport a more economical price tag.
According to a report by TechPlus, the OnePlus 12R’s base model with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is expected to start at $499 (approx. Rs. 35,000). Additionally, the variant with 16GB RAM + 256GB storage might retail for $599 (approx. Rs. 44,000).
Meanwhile, the OnePlus 12’s 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is projected to cost $799 (approx. Rs. 66,400), while the higher-end 16GB RAM + 512GB configuration is expected to be priced at $899 (approx. Rs. 74,000). These prices reflect a hike compared to last year’s OnePlus 11, initially available at $699 (approx. Rs. 58,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The OnePlus 12 is aimed at rivaling premium competitors such as the Apple iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S23, and Google Pixel 8 within this price bracket.
The OnePlus 12 was earlier launched in China with a base configuration of 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, commencing at CNY 4,299 (approx. Rs. 50,700).
Specifications-wise, the OnePlus 12 runs on Android 14-based ColorOS 14, flaunts a 6.82-inch quad-HD+ LTPO OLED display (1,440 x 3,168 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate, and houses a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, supporting up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Its camera setup includes a Hasselblad-tuned triple rear unit and a 32-megapixel front camera. The device offers storage options up to 1TB of UFS 4 and is powered by a 5,400mAh battery supporting 100W SuperVOOC charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 12R is anticipated to feature toned-down specifications compared to the OnePlus 12, potentially housing a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor supported by optical image stabilization (OIS).
