Andhra Pradesh CID Initiates Action
In a significant development, the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has issued an arrest warrant for former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) senior leader, N. Chandrababu Naidu. The arrest warrant is related to alleged corruption charges and has led to a dramatic situation in Nandyal district.
High Drama Unfolds as Arrest Warrant Is Served
The arrest warrant was served by a team of police officials in the early hours of the morning in Nandyal district, where Mr. Naidu was on a visit. The situation escalated when a group of TDP workers engaged in a heated argument with the police officers, questioning the late-night action. Amidst this standoff, a minor scuffle reportedly broke out between TDP workers and the police.
TDP leaders criticized the police for their late-night action against the senior leader, and it was reported that some party workers were detained by the police during the incident.
Heavy Police Presence and CID Response
To maintain law and order during this development, a substantial police force, under the command of DIG Raghurama Reddy, has been deployed in the area. However, the police have not provided detailed responses to the queries raised by party leaders, citing that the remand report contains all the necessary information.
The CID officials involved in the operation stressed that they have evidence, which they have already submitted to the high court. They further indicated that the remand report comprehensively covers the case’s contents, and they intend to present it before taking Mr. Naidu to Vijayawada.
