Rahul Gandhi Addresses Ideological Conflict at ‘Hain Taiyyar Hum’ Rally in Nagpur
At the ‘Hain Taiyyar Hum’ rally in Nagpur, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasized an ongoing ideological battle prevailing in the country, pointing to a conflict between two differing ideologies.
Addressing a sizable gathering in the district, Gandhi stated, “There is a fight of ideologies going on in the country. People think that it is a political fight, a fight for power, it is, but the foundation of this fight is of ideology, of two opposing ideologies.”
Reflecting on a conversation with a BJP leader, Gandhi recounted an encounter where the leader admitted feeling constrained in the BJP. “I met a BJP MP in the Lok Sabha, previously associated with Congress, who confided, ‘Rahul ji, I want to talk to you.’ He expressed his discomfort in the BJP, mentioning that ‘ghulami’ (slavery) operates within the party,” shared the Congress leader.
Highlighting the BJP leader’s sentiments, Gandhi revealed, “He conveyed that orders from higher-ups are unquestionably executed, reflecting a sense of compulsion and lack of individual decision-making.” He contrasted this approach with the Congress ideology, emphasizing its openness to internal discourse and respecting the voices of grassroots workers.
Referring to a scenario involving Congress PCC President Nana Patole, Gandhi underscored, “In Congress, the voice comes from below; our small workers can address big leaders. Our party values discussions and respects the concerns of every individual.”
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi arrived in Nagpur for the ‘Hain Taiyyar Hum’ rally, coinciding with the party’s 139th foundation day celebrations. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge marked the occasion by hoisting the party flag at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Headquarters in Delhi, where he also met Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Rajiv Shukla, KC Venugopal, and other leaders.
