Sudden Rain Provides Welcome Relief to Sweltering Delhi.
New Delhi: A sudden and unexpected downpour graced the city of Delhi in the early hours of the morning, offering a much-needed respite from the scorching summer heat. The impromptu rainfall was a welcome surprise for many, as it temporarily quelled the soaring temperatures that had been gripping the capital.
Localized Showers in South-West Delhi.
In specific regions of south-west Delhi, such as Vasant Kunj, Munirka, and Narela, the heavens opened up, gifting the parched earth with a gentle drizzle. These areas, in particular, were blessed with a brief but refreshing bout of rainfall, which was nothing short of a relief for the residents.
G20 Summit Prepares for Showers.
The timely showers come as a blessing, especially as India is gearing up to host the grand G20 Summit in the heart of the nation’s capital. The event, scheduled for today and tomorrow, is expected to draw global leaders and dignitaries. The rain serves as a natural coolant, alleviating the stifling humidity that often accompanies Delhi’s summer, ensuring a more comfortable environment for the summit’s attendees.
As per the latest updates from the Regional Meteorological Centre in Delhi, it is predicted that the national capital may continue to experience light rain throughout the forenoon today and tomorrow. This unexpected weather phenomenon may play a crucial role in maintaining a pleasant atmosphere during the event, making it conducive for discussions and negotiations among world leaders.
Temperature Relief with a Slight Drizzle.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecasted that the maximum temperature in Delhi today will hover around 37 degrees Celsius, with the minimum expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius. This deviation from the usual scorching heat has been attributed to the timely rains, which have not only cooled down the temperature but have also brought a sigh of relief to the city’s residents.
In retrospect, the city experienced heavy rainfall and water discharge from the Hathnikund barrage in Haryana back in July. This combination led to widespread flooding in low-lying areas of Delhi and its surrounding regions, causing significant disruptions. However, this time, the rain has been gentler, offering a more pleasant experience for the residents and visitors alike.
