In a significant development, nine BJP MLAs were sworn in as ministers in the Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai-led BJP government in Chhattisgarh, bolstering the cabinet to a strength of 12 members.

The newly sworn-in ministers include Brijmohan Agrawal, Ram Vichar Netam, Dayaldas Baghel, Kedar Kashyap, Lakhanlal Dewangan, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, OP Choudhary, Tankram Verma, and Laxmi Rajwade. Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan administered the oath of office and secrecy to these ministers during a ceremony at Raj Bhavan.

Speaking to ANI, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his confidence in the ministers, highlighting their commitment to work for the welfare of Chhattisgarh. He congratulated the new ministers and extended his best wishes for their tenure.

Lakshmi Rajwade, after taking the oath as a Chhattisgarh minister, conveyed her gratitude to the BJP for recognizing her as a representative not only of the Bhatgaon constituency but also of the entire state. She emphasized the priority given to women and expressed confidence in fulfilling promises under PM Modi’s leadership.

Similarly, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, another BJP MLA who took the oath, expressed gratitude to the party leadership for entrusting ministerial responsibilities to someone from a humble farmer family. He pledged to prioritize the doubling of farmers’ income and acknowledged the support of women, youth, and farmers in forming the BJP government.

Meanwhile, Kedar Kashyap, upon assuming office as a minister, expressed gratitude to the state and national BJP units as well as the Chief Minister for the opportunity bestowed upon him. He committed to meeting expectations and highlighted their priority of ensuring the outreach of PM Modi’s initiatives to every household.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Raman Singh extended greetings to the new ministers, expressing confidence in their dedication to executing the party’s manifesto.

This development follows the oath-taking ceremony of Vishnu Sai, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma at Science College Ground in Raipur on December 13. According to constitutional norms, Chhattisgarh, with a 90-member assembly, can accommodate a maximum of 13 ministers, including the chief minister.

During the state’s elections held in two phases, the BJP secured victory in 54 out of the 90 assembly constituencies, while the Congress emerged victorious in 35.
