In a significant crackdown on the drug trade, Raipur police apprehended a young individual for allegedly trafficking cannabis in an ambulance, leading to the recovery of over 364 kilograms of the psychotropic drug. Azad Chowk City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Mayank Gurjar reported that late last night, law enforcement intercepted a suspicious ambulance within the jurisdiction of Amanaka police station.

Upon inspection, the police team discovered a massive quantity of cannabis stashed in the ambulance. CSP Gurjar revealed that the estimated value of the seized contraband is around Rs 36 lakh. The arrested individual, identified as Suraj Khute (22) from Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, was detained in connection with the incident, as confirmed by the CSP.

Further investigation uncovered that the accused had allegedly acquired the illegal substance from Odisha and transported it to Baloda Bazaar. The arrested individual’s revelation during interrogation shed light on the drug’s sourcing and movement within the region, contributing to ongoing efforts to curb narcotics trafficking.
