The Cyber Police in Kashmir have taken decisive steps against the alleged fraudulent entity, ‘Curative Survey Private Limited,’ for deceiving the public in Jammu and Kashmir through a misleading website. The financial malpractice, which came to light in Srinagar, involved the exploitation of investors who had placed their trust and hard-earned money in the hands of the company, sparking protests from the victims.

Investors asserted that they were lured in with promises of doubling their investments within a mere 15 days. While initially receiving the promised returns, the company gradually became unresponsive, sowing seeds of doubt among the investors. An FIR filed against the company detailed how it had swindled individuals, particularly targeting students and housewives, by enticing them to invest with false assurances of significant returns. Subsequently, the company, having misled and defrauded investors, abruptly ceased communication, triggering chaos and protests.

The FIR, filed under U/S 66D of the IT Act and Section 420 of the IPC, outlines the offenses committed by the company. The case, bearing FIR No. 39/2023, has been officially registered, and an Inspector-ranked officer has been designated to spearhead the investigation.

A collaborative effort involving the Cyber Police and a magistrate resulted in the sealing of the company’s office situated in the Karanagar area of Srinagar. Furthermore, raids were carried out at five affiliated locations, leading to the confiscation of electronic devices and documents connected to the financial fraud amounting to crores.

The precise total of investments across the valley is still under scrutiny. Authorities have assured the public that a comprehensive investigation is in progress, and stringent measures will be taken against the individuals implicated in the fraud.
