Recovery of Burnt Phone Parts Linked to Parliament Security Breach Incident
In a significant development regarding the Parliament security breach incident, police sources revealed that phone parts belonging to the accused have been discovered in Rajasthan. However, these phone components were found in a burnt state. While this recovery marks progress in the investigation, Lalit Jha’s phone remains unrecovered.
Delhi police sources disclosed that Lalit Jha, the prime accused, had destroyed five mobile phones before reaching Delhi and had been misleading the investigative team. Prior to the security breach, the other four accused had handed their phones to Jha, aiming to prevent crucial investigation details from reaching the police, anticipating their potential arrest.
The revelation suggests that Lalit Jha actually destroyed five phones, specifically after absconding to Rajasthan’s Kuchaman, according to police sources. Recently, Mahesh Kumawat, the sixth accused in the Parliament security breach case, was granted seven-day custody by the Patiala House Court in response to the Delhi Police’s request. The police had sought 15 days of custodial remand for Kumawat, who is the latest person arrested in connection to the incident.
Lalit Jha, along with the other five accused, has already been taken into police custody. The breach occurred on December 13, coinciding with the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack. During Zero Hour, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D leaped into the Lok Sabha chamber, releasing yellow gas and shouting anti-establishment slogans before being subdued by MPs.
Outside the premises, two protestors, Neelam and Amol, also utilized gas canisters to stage a protest. All four individuals involved in the external protest were remanded to seven-day custody by the Delhi Police Special Cell on Thursday. The recovery of burnt phone parts and the ongoing custodial proceedings suggest intensified efforts by authorities to unravel the intricacies of this security breach incident.
