WFI Elections Set for December 21

The WFI elections are scheduled for December 21, with results declared on the same day, following the Supreme Court’s decision to lift the stay imposed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The election process will adhere to WFI’s constitution and the Model Guidelines, 2011 issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

United World Wrestling suspended WFI in August due to election delays, citing failure to conduct elections within the specified duration.

Originally planned for June, the elections faced postponement amid protests and legal challenges, with an ad hoc committee currently overseeing WFI affairs.
