The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin personally inspected cyclone-affected areas and relief camps in Chennai, ensuring the well-being of those sheltered and the quality of the food being provided. The state has mobilized significant resources for rescue and relief work, including relocating 5000 workers to Chennai for mitigation efforts.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported the cyclone’s movement and predicted its likely path and impact. As a precaution, Chennai Airfield has been closed for all arrival and departure operations. Public life in Chennai has been severely affected, with heavy rains leading to the inundation of several areas, including major roads and low-lying localities.
