Owaisi Criticizes Azharuddin as ‘Unsuccessful Politician’
Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of AIMIM, openly criticized Congress candidate Mohammad Azharuddin, contesting from the Jubilee Hills assembly segment, labeling him as an “unsuccessful politician.” Owaisi expressed his confidence that voters would favor his party’s candidate in the area. He highlighted Azharuddin’s previous political endeavors in Moradabad and Rajasthan, pointing out his lack of engagement with the constituencies post-elections.
Confidence in BRS’s Return to Power
During his media address, Owaisi ruled out the possibility of a hung assembly in Telangana post the November 30 polls. He firmly believes that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party will secure a third consecutive term. Owaisi emphasized the wisdom of Telangana’s electorate in making this choice.
Critique of Congress and BJP
Owaisi didn’t hesitate to challenge the Telangana PCC chief, accusing him of having RSS roots and claiming Gandhi Bhavan is under the influence of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. He also dismissed the notion of a secret pact between BJP and BRS, questioning why the Rao-led government would invest Rs 12,000 crore in minority development if such an understanding existed. He further criticized the Congress for its history with communal riots and condemned BJP’s stance on religion-based reservations, asserting the existing quotas in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are not religion-specific.
Response to Election Controversy
Addressing a controversy involving his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, Asaduddin clarified that they had permission for a rally until 10 PM as per Election Commission rules. He explained that an official’s attempt to halt the meeting before the deadline led to the confrontation seen in the viral video.
