In Wednesday’s early trade, Apollo Tyres experienced a significant surge, riding high on the back of its September quarter earnings report. The numbers not only exceeded market expectations but also showcased a remarkable year-over-year growth.
Profit and Revenue Growth
Apollo Tyres announced a staggering 164.80% increase in consolidated net profit at ₹474 crore, a leap from ₹179 crore reported in the same quarter the previous year. The company’s revenue also saw a substantial rise, moving up to ₹6,280 crore, reflecting robust sales and operational performance.
Margins and Market Reaction
The company’s operating profit and EBITDA margins saw impressive gains, with the latter expanding by 600 basis points year-over-year. This robust financial health propelled Apollo Tyres’ stock, which opened significantly higher than the previous close, and reached an intraday high showcasing a notable increase of 5.7%.
Strategic Initiatives and Industry Outlook
HDFC Securities acknowledges the strategic shifts Apollo Tyres has made, focusing on premium products and operational efficiency, setting the stage for sustainable growth. The brokerage firm also noted a commendable pricing discipline within the domestic tyre industry, contributing to less volatile earnings and improved long-term viability for industry players. Apollo Tyres’ strategic direction towards Vision 2026 is highlighted, with the company making strides in improving its Return on Capital Employed (RoCE), a key indicator of financial progress.
