    2020 Delhi Riots: Bail Plea of Umar Khalid Adjourned by Delhi High Court; Father Accuses State

    New Delhi, September 04, 2026 [VoM News]: In a major setback, hearing on Umar Khalid bail plea in connection with 2020 Delhi riots has been adjourned by Delhi High Court.

    As Umar Khalid has been charged of conspiring to orchestrate the 2020 Delhi riots, and he filed a bail application regarding yhis, which earlier was scheduled for August 27.

    As the court was off due to holiday, were listed for Monday instead, but got adjourned.

    As off now, the matter will now be heard next on September 21.

    Meanwhile, the Khalid’s father has accused the state of not wishing to grant bail.

    He added that the state doesn’t want Umar Khalid to get bail.

    Khalid has been in custody since September 2020 in connection with the northeast Delhi riots case, which the prosecution has alleged was a premeditated conspiracy under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
