Dimagi Naxal Party Instagram Account Crosses 1.6 lakh followers in a day, created following the PM’s Remarks of ‘Dimagi Naxal’
New Delhi, August 17, 2026 [VoM News]: An Instagram account by the name ‘Dimagi Naxal Party’ has sprung up on the platform and reportedly registered over 1.6 lakh followers in a single day. The account has gained traction after the PM Narendra Modi used the term ‘dimagi Naxal’ in his Independence Day speech last week.
The account, with around 62 posts and 35 followers, is believed to have been created in the beginning of the month. Instagram data shows that the username has been modified once. The account’s operator, however, is not disclosed.
The sudden surge in the account’s followers comes after PM Modi termed “dimagi” or “intellectual” Naxals as a problem even after eliminating Maoist extremists. Referring to the erosion of armed Naxalism, the PM said while armed Naxals no longer posed a threat from forests but “dimagi” Naxals continued to exist.
