Washington, July 31 (Reuters) [VoM News]: The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled an executive business meeting for Tuesday to consider the nomination of Todd Blanche for the post of U.S. Attorney General.
According to the committee’s website, senators will take up Blanche’s nomination after it remained stalled due to disagreements among Republican lawmakers.

The delay stemmed from a dispute over President Donald Trump’s proposed $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund, which critics say could be used to compensate individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot.
The committee’s upcoming meeting is expected to determine whether Blanche’s nomination advances to the full Senate for confirmation.
