
Pull Doda Bridge Declared Safe for Traffic, Subject to Continuous Monitoring: DIQC Report

Doda, July 29, 2026 [VoM News]: The vehicular traffic has been restored on the Pull Doda Bridge as the Design Inspection & Quality Control (DIQC) Department, Jammu, submitted its technical assessment report, recommending restoration of traffic with certain conditions.
VoM News has learnt that an official communication issued by the Office of the Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B) Circle Doda-Kishtwar, dated July 28, 2026, informed the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Division Doda, that the technical assessment report prepared by the DIQC committee had been received.
As per details available with VoM News, the Executive Engineer has been directed to take necessary action in accordance with the recommendations made by the committee.
The communication states that traffic on the bridge may be restored, subject to continuous monitoring and supervision, particularly during periods when flood levels rise to an extent that the bridge’s superstructure is affected by flowing water.
The assessment report was forwarded following the inspection conducted by the Design Inspection & Quality Control (DIQC) Department, Jammu.

Meanwhile, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), Doda held a media interaction, stating that the reports regarding the cracks like appearance were inspected and assesed by bridge expert team, and it has been declared safe.
He added that precautionary measure must be taken during the onset of heavy rainfall, kke moonsoon onset, as HFL of the bridge is very high, as the designing during the bridge construction was low.
In such situation, the vehicular movement could be stopped, as the bridge could get submerged also.
He further added that there is a discussion of any alternative of the bridge in pipeline, and not disclosed the further details.
