Six Months After 15-Day Graft Probe Order, Jammu Kashmir Govt Yet to Make Inquiry Report Public
JAMMU, July 4 [VoM News]: Six months after the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department ordered a high-level inquiry into alleged corruption in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Sainik Schools, the findings of the probe have not been made public, prompting fresh questions over the status of the investigation.
The inquiry was constituted through Government Order No. 01-JK(Edu) of 2026, dated January 1, 2026, directing a committee headed by the Director of School Education, Kashmir, to examine allegations highlighted in the book Defying Corruption: One Man’s Quest to Expose and investigative reports published by Samarkand Express.
The committee, which also included the Joint Director (Central), Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, and the Joint Director (SE), Directorate of School Education, Jammu, was instructed to submit its report to the School Education Department within 15 days. Copies of the order were also forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs and other senior officials.

However, more than six months later, there has been no official statement on whether the inquiry has been completed, whether the report has been submitted, or whether any action has been taken on its findings.
The delay has raised questions from the authors of the disclosures and media organisations that reported on the allegations. They have sought clarity on the status of the inquiry and urged the administration to disclose the outcome in the interest of transparency and public accountability.
