800 Afghan Refugees Deported from Pakistan
Over 800 Afghan refugees were deported from Pakistan via the Torkham and Spin Boldak crossings, as confirmed by officials.
According to the Taliban-led Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, 468 people comprising 90 families returned over the Torkham crossing, while 369 people from 67 families crossed the Spin Boldak crossing.
Despite these efforts, Afghan refugees in Pakistan continue to face dire circumstances, including lack of shelter, limited access to essential services like healthcare and education, and vulnerability to prejudice and exploitation.
The recent launch of Pakistan’s second phase of deporting illegal refugees has further worsened the situation for Afghan refugees, raising concerns about their well-being and safety.
