4th District Doda Taekwondo Championship 2023 Kicks Off with Grand Opening Ceremony
Doda, October 02: The much-anticipated opening ceremony of the 4th District Doda Taekwondo Championship 2023 took place on October 1, 2023, at the Town Hall in Doda. This thrilling sporting event, held under the emblem of ‘My Youth My Pride,’ was meticulously organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Doda, under the auspices of the J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd) and with the invaluable support of the J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
A Display of Combative Skills
The first day of the championship featured a captivating showcase of combative skills, with Cadets and Sub-Junior Athletes competing fiercely in both male and female categories. More than 150 talented players hailing from different schools and clubs across District Doda participated, adding to the competitive spirit of the event.
Distinguished Guests and Words of Encouragement
The opening ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Mohd Ashraf Wani (District Information Officer, Doda), who served as the Chief Guest, Shri Kheem Chand (Principal, JNV School Doda), Dr. Altaf Malik (Surgeon, GMC Doda) as the Guest of Honour, and Special Guests Mr. Brinder Singh Manhas, Mr. Deepak Pawaria, Seema Yadav, and Irfan Naik. Shri Mohd Ashraf Wani congratulated all the medalists and participants, emphasizing the importance of sports and community engagement.

Leadership and Fair Play
The championship was impeccably led by Junaid Ali Khan, President of TADD (Taekwondo Association of District Doda). The technical team, known for its fair play decisions throughout the championship, was under the guidance of Shri Atul Pangotra. The distinguished referee panel included Shanaz Parveen, Sidharth Sharma, Rakesh Singh, Rajinder Singh, and Mehak Anthal, who ensured the smooth conduct of the competition.
Path to the UT Taekwondo Championships
All the medalists from this district-level championship will have the honor of representing District Doda in the upcoming 26th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships – 2023. This event not only showcases the sporting talent of the region but also fosters a sense of pride and unity among the youth.
