As winter blankets Jabalpur, the cityscape transforms with the arrival of migratory Siberian birds along the Narmada riverbank. Drawing attention from both visitors and bird enthusiasts, these feathered guests not only enrich the scenic beauty of the Narmada River but have also become a captivating spectacle.

Their presence has brought delight to locals and tourists alike, who gather by the riverbank with family and friends to relish leisurely hours while enjoying the picturesque scene.

Many visitors engage in feeding grains to these birds, attributing a sense of virtue to this act. An elderly visitor, accompanied by family, expressed his joy, remarking on the entertainment and gratification derived from witnessing and feeding the seasonal birds at Gwarighat.

These migratory birds frequent the area during the winter season, providing not just a visual treat but also creating employment opportunities for grain sellers in the vicinity.

Sudhir Joshi, a visitor, emphasized the gratifying experience of feeding these visiting avian species, highlighting the sense of goodwill associated with such acts.

Grain sellers reported an uptick in sales of grains, primarily made from gram flour, generating daily earnings of up to Rs 500.

Winter in India becomes a welcoming season for migratory birds from colder regions, seeking refuge in the more temperate climate of the Indian subcontinent for breeding and sustenance.
