Usman Khan Among 29 Called for Pakistan’s Training Camp

Pakistan-born UAE’s top-order batter, Usman Khan, is among 29 players summoned for Pakistan’s training camp in Kakul, scheduled from Tuesday to April 8. Despite featuring as a registered overseas player for the Multan Sultans in PSL 2024 and finishing as the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer, the reason for Usman’s inclusion remains undisclosed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Strategic Training Camp

The training camp, organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, aims to prepare players for upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, away series against Ireland and England, and the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. The camp will feature prominent players like Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, and Haris Rauf.

Notable Players and Recent Developments

Imad Wasim reversed his retirement decision after a successful stint with Islamabad United in the PSL. Mohammad Amir also rescinded his international retirement, making himself available for Pakistan’s T20I series and the T20 World Cup. Haris Rauf, reinstated after his contract termination last month, will also participate in the camp.

Roster of Pakistan Players

The training camp roster includes Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, and other notable players, along with the newly included Usman Khan. The camp aims to enhance player fitness and strategic readiness for the upcoming cricket events.
