Two PDD Linemen Injured; Hospitalized in Poonch
SRINAGAR: Two employees of the Power Development Department (PDD) sustained injuries while repairing the 11 kV line at Sanai in Surankote area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
The duo, identified as Mohd Farooq, aged 48, and Mohd Khaliq, aged 45, both daily wagers, received an electric shock during the operation.
Following the accident, the injured employees were immediately shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Surankote for initial treatment. After receiving first aid, they were referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for further specialised care.
The incident has sparked protests from the families of the injured employees, who took to the high road in Sanai, Block Poonch, to voice their concerns.
The families expressed dissatisfaction with the safety measures and alleged negligence on the part of PDD officials. (News Vibes of India)
