Trial on Katra-Reasi Section of USBRL: load test expected in a few days

As the railway authorities conducted a cargo-loaded train trial on the Katra-Reasi section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail line, it was conducted. 

It means this test is of important value, ahead of the safety test. A cargo-loaded train was passed through this section of USBRL. 

Also, the load test is expected in a few days. The Commissioner of Railway Safety Northern Circle, New Delhi, is visiting the above-mentioned section on January 05 and 06 for the final safety test of the stretch.

What’s USBRL?

A gigantic structure located in the Himalayas, a project undertaken by Indian Railways, which aims to connect the access of the rail network to different parts of the country 

As this project commenced in the year 2022, it has been divided into three sections: Udhampur-Katra, Katra-Qazigund, and Qazigund-Baramulla. 

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently announced the completion of the work process on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project and termed this completion as crucial for the rail connection of Kashmir with the rest of the country.

It seems the project will be made public after its inauguration ceremony, likely to be inaugurated In January by Prime Minister Narinder Modi.
