    Bihar has witnessed a series of tragic incidents during the Chhath festivities, with a total of 13 people reported drowned in various water bodies across seven districts since Sunday. This unfortunate news was confirmed by a statement from the Bihar Disaster Management Department (DMD).

    Locations of the Drowning Incidents

    The incidents occurred in several districts, including Patna, Khagaria, Samastipur, Saharsa, Darbhanga, Munger, and Begusarai. In Patna district alone, three individuals drowned in a pond in the Brahmpur area around 8.15 am.

    Details of the Tragic Events

    In Khagaria, three people drowned in two separate incidents in Chautham and Parbata areas early Monday morning. Additionally, two deaths were reported in both Darbhanga and Samastipur districts, with one each in Begusarai, Munger, and Saharsa districts since Sunday.

    As of the latest updates, the identities of the victims involved in these tragic incidents have not been disclosed. The series of drownings has cast a shadow over the Chhath festivities, traditionally marked by joy and reverence.
