Six Workers Killed in Brick Wall Collapse in Haridwar’s Lahboli Village
In a devastating incident at Lahboli village, Mangalore police station area in Haridwar district, six workers lost their lives as a brick wall collapsed on Tuesday. Officials reported that the fatal accident occurred during the transfer of bricks to a furnace for the hardening process in the fire. The laborers were engaged in their duties at the brick kiln when the unfortunate incident transpired.
Upon receiving information about the wall collapse, a rescue team, comprising the District Magistrate (DM), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and medical personnel, promptly arrived at the site. Haridwar District Police Captain Parmendra Dobal confirmed the grim situation, stating, “Eight individuals were trapped beneath the collapsed bricks. Tragically, six of them succumbed to their injuries. Two individuals are presently receiving medical care in the hospital. Our team is on-site, and we will proceed with necessary actions.”
Efforts to clear the debris, employing an earthmover, were already underway at the time of this report. Further details on the incident are anticipated as investigations continue.
This tragic occurrence marks a devastating loss of life, highlighting the hazardous conditions faced by workers in such industries.
