Governor highlighted the significance of making reliable, affordable, sustainable, and safe public transport accessible to daily commuters and office goers in Srinagar city and surrounding districts. He also emphasized the need for dedicated charging stations to remain functional year-round, guaranteeing the continued operation of the e-buses.
A Technological Revolution: Smart Features and Seamless Experience
The electric buses come equipped with advanced features, including Universal Access and HVAC systems, on-board vehicle tracking, CCTV, and emergency stop facilities. To enhance passenger convenience, a dedicated mobile app and online ticket payment facility have been developed. All buses are seamlessly integrated with Srinagar Smart City’s Integrated Command & Control Centre, ensuring efficient operations and real-time monitoring.
The future of public transportation in Srinagar looks promising, and this marks just the beginning. With a dream of Metro Rail becoming a reality in Srinagar and Jammu, the region is poised for a transformative shift in urban mobility. As the city embraces electric buses and sustainable transport solutions, it’s on the path to becoming a model for other urban centers seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and improve the quality of life for their residents.
