Seven-year-old girl dies in Poonch after a boulder hit her during construction work
A minor girl died in the Poonch district of Jammu Kashmir after a boulder hit her during construction work on a link road, officials stated on Wednesday.
As reports reached VoM, a seven-year-old girl was coming back from school, when she got hit by a massive boulder during construction, resulting in her death.
Reports say, the girl suffered major injuries in sensitive areas and died of internal bleeding, says Dr Ashfaq Choudhary, Block Medical officer.
After the medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites.
The residents of the village protested and demanded stern action against the construction company, calling it negligence.
Meanwhile, the police have taken notice of the incident and an investigation has been taken up.
