Ramban 11 July , 2024 Cracking down heavily on Narcotics smuggling under Operation Sanjeevani.Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ramban District foiled a Narcotics smuggling bid in the jurisdictions of PS Ramban and arrested one person with Poppy Straw.

A police party of Police Station Ramban established a special naka for vehicle checking at NHW. Police party signalled one rider of Motor C lhycle bearing registration number DL 3SAY 3973 who was coming from Kashmir Side towards Jammu for checking.

The person riding on the Motorcycle disclosed his identity as Pritam Singh S/O Sardara Singh R/O village boot P.O Subhanpur Tehsil and District Kapurthala Punjab.

During checking Poppy Straw like substance weighing approx 15 kgs was recovered from the above said person and on further questioning he could not gave any satisfactory reply regarding possession of contraband substance.

Accordingly a case FIR No 167/2024 U/s 8/15 NDPS registered at PS Ramban.The accused person has been arrested ,contraband alongwith vehicle seized, investigation of the case going on to prove backward and forward linkages.
