After engaging in extensive consultations with a 10-member committee, comprising influential figures such as Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Moulana Rehmatullah, and other prominent Islamic scholars, it was unanimously agreed that the first day of the fasting month would be observed on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mufti Nasir expressed his heartfelt greetings to the people of JK on the commencement of the sacred month, urging them to engage in prayers, read the Quran, and seek repentance from the Almighty. In addition, he highlighted that the first Tarawih, the late-night prayers, would commence from today, marking the initiation of a month-long spiritual journey for the Muslim community.
