Railway Board CEO Reviews USBRL Project Progress in j-k
Jaya Varma Sinha, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board, conducted an extensive review of the USBRL Project, overseeing the progress during her visit. The inspection, which took place in the presence of senior officers such as Shobhan Chaudhuri (General Manager/Northern Railway), Sandeep Gupta (CAO/USBRL), Sanjay Gupta (CMD/KRCL), V P Singh (PCE/NR), U. C. Joshi (PCOM/NR), and Sanjay Sahu (Divisional Railway Manager/Firozpur), focused on various critical aspects of the project.
Commencing her inspection from Katra to Tunnel No T-33 (old T-1), Jaya Varma Sinha actively participated in a Motor Trolly inspection. Subsequently, she conducted a thorough on-foot examination of the ongoing critical work at Tunnel T-33. Despite the challenging geological conditions, she praised the project team for their commendable efforts and advised them to adhere strictly to safety protocols.
During the inspection, Jaya Varma Sinha directed the project authorities to take every possible measure to expedite the completion of remaining works, emphasizing the importance of linking the Katra-Reasi section.
Continuing the inspection with a motor trolley ride from Tunnel T-34 (old T-2) onwards through Anji Bridge, Reasi Station, Bakkal Station, Chenab Bridge, and up to Dugga railway station, she meticulously examined track, E&M, S&T, and RE works. Expressing satisfaction with the quality and progress of these works, she commended the project team.
At the Chenab Bridge site, Jaya Varma Sinha, along with officials from NR, KRCL, and IRCON, reviewed the progress of the USBRL project. She expressed contentment with the pace of the works and directed the project authorities to closely monitor all remaining tasks, particularly Tunnel T-1 & Sawalkote yard works, to ensure timely completion without any delays.
