Rabri Devi Files Nomination for Bihar MLC Elections
Former Bihar Chief Minister and prominent RJD leader, Rabri Devi, demonstrated her political commitment as she filed her nomination for the Bihar MLC elections on Monday. Accompanied by four other candidates from the Mahagathbandhan alliance, Rabri Devi, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Dr Urmila Thakur, Syed Faisal Ali, and Shashi Yadav, the group collectively presented their nomination papers, marking a significant step in the upcoming elections.

In a show of unity, Rabri Devi, alongside her husband and party president Lalu Prasad Yadav, displayed a victory sign, symbolizing the confidence within the Mahagathbandhan alliance. The presence of leaders like Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, and others further emphasized the alliance’s collective strength and determination.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav expressed optimism, asserting that the Mahagathbandhan, with its diverse set of candidates, will emerge victorious in the MLC elections. “Today, five candidates, including three women, have filed their nominations from the Mahagathbandhan,” stated Tejashwi Yadav, reinforcing the alliance’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

On the other side of the political spectrum, the BJP unveiled its list of candidates for the upcoming MLC elections in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. With a total of 11 seats up for contention in Bihar, the BJP has named Mangal Pandey, Dr Lal Mohan Gupta, and Anamika Singh for the MLC election 2024. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Khalid Anwar, representing the JD(U) quota, have already submitted their nominations, showcasing the competitive political landscape.
March 11 marked the deadline for filing nominations for the March 21 MLC polls in Bihar and UP. State BJP leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, as well as senior JD-U leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Vijay Choudhary, and Ashok Choudhary, were present during the nomination process, underscoring the significance of these elections in shaping the political landscape of the region.
