DODA, JANUARY 16: Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh led a comprehensive review meeting on Tuesday at the DC office complex to assess the preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. The meeting, held in the conference hall, was attended by various district officers from different departments, including ADC, ACD, executive engineers from PWD, PDD, and PHE, along with representatives from Higher Secondary School and other senior officers.

The meeting unveiled the Sports Stadium as the venue for the main Republic Day function. The festivities are scheduled to kick off with the Shehnai wadan program at 7:30 AM, presented by the District Information Centre Doda.

A diverse array of contingents, including JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, NCC Senior and Junior Divisions, as well as both government and private schools, are slated to participate in the event.

To facilitate smooth logistics planning, the education department received instructions to submit a list of participating schools and institutions to the DC office, covering details such as refreshments.

DC Doda issued directives to the Municipal Council and Executive Engineer PDD to illuminate public offices, following past practices. Furthermore, the Sports Council was assigned the task of enhancing the venue’s appearance ahead of the event.

Various aspects of the celebration were addressed during the meeting, encompassing drinking water, power supply, toilet facilities, parking, first aid, sanitation, security, public address system, fire tenders, tableau preparation, seating arrangements, mementos, and refreshments. Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness around the venue, health facilities, and efficient traffic arrangements, DC Doda outlined meticulous preparations for the grand event.

The final full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day celebration in Doda is scheduled for January 24, 2024, ensuring that all aspects are fine-tuned for the successful execution of the event.
