The introduction of 650 PG medical seats further underscores the commitment to enhancing medical education in the Union Territory.
AIIMS Jammu: A Milestone in Healthcare Evolution:
Highlighting the exponential growth in healthcare infrastructure, Modi emphasized that AIIMS Jammu is part of the 15 new AIIMS established by the Union government in the last 10 years. AIIMS Jammu, with an expected daily footfall of 2000-3000 patients, is poised to provide comprehensive medical services, including trauma care, general care, and super-specialties.
Holistic Healthcare Approach:
AIIMS Jammu’s plans include the establishment of approximately 50 departments, incorporating both general and specialized care. Advanced facilities like Nuclear Medicine, 20 Modular OTs, MRI, and CT Scan operating round-the-clock will guarantee continuous and humane care. The ‘Aayush Block,’ dedicated to merging traditional and modern medicine, reflects a holistic healthcare approach.
The institute will also contribute significantly to medical education, offering various programs such as MBBS, nursing, post-graduate programs, super-specialization programs, and doctoral degrees.
