Patwari Caught Red-Handed Taking Bribe in Kathua Jk, Arrested by ACB
The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Sudershan Khajuria, a Patwari of Halqa Khanpur in Kathua district, for allegedly accepting a ₹15,000 bribe to alter a Girdawari entry in revenue records.
According to officials, the complainant reported that Khajuria initially demanded ₹30,000, threatening to manipulate records if the payment was not made. Under pressure, the complainant paid ₹5,000 but later negotiated the total amount to ₹15,000. Unwilling to pay further, the complainant approached the ACB, which verified the bribery demand before registering an FIR under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, at the ACB Police Station in Jammu.
