
Pakistan whitewashes South Africa 3-0, first to beat them at home
Pakistan became the first team in the world to beat & whitewash South Africa on their home soil in bilaterals contest. And all this happened under stylish Rizwan’s captaincy.
In the third one-day international cricket match played at The Wanderers Cricket Stadium, Pakistan thrashed South Africa by 36 runs via the DLS method and won the series 3-0.
By this splendid victory, Pakistan became the first team to whitewash South Africa at their home in ODI cricket. Earlier, Pakistan defeated Australia, Zimbabwe, and now, South Africa.
Earlier, on the day, South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl. Pakistan posted a mammoth total of 308/9 in a rain-affected match, reduced to 47 overs. For Pakistan, once again, Saim Ayub played a marvelous inning of 101 (94), followed by Babar’s 52 (71) and Rizwan’s 53 (52).

The last ending overs, Salman Ali Agha’s 48 (33) and Tayyab Tahir’s 28 (24), took Pakistan across the 300 mark.
For South Africa, Rabada picked three wickets, followed by two wickets from Marco Jensen and Fortuin, respectively.

Chasing the total, the host South Africa were all out for 271 runs in 42 overs, with the great innings of Heinrich Klaasen 81 (43), Rassie van der Dussen 35 (52), and Circin Bosch 40 (44).
For Pakistan, Sufyan Muqeem was the pick of bowler with figures of 8-4-52, while Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi picked two wickets each.
Saim Ayub was declared as Man of the Match and Man of the Series for great display of cricket skills.
