This development, which is being seen as a significant development, was announced by Deputy Secretary Home, Ministry Datuk Alik Heman, on December 20, 2024.
The visa-free-entry policy, which was introduced by Malaysia in 2023, after the extension, would now continue till December 31, 2026.

Visa-Free-Entry for Indians in Malaysia: The Malaysian authorities are committed to boosting the influx of travellers from other countries and see Malaysia as a travel hub.
If the travellers of any nation is provided the exception, it means they will not face issues of visa procedure. The visa exception allows the citizens of certain countries to enter without obtaining a visa in advance.
Likewise, now, Indian nationals will travel to Malaysia for different purposes, like business, tourism, etc., and could now stay up to 30 days without applying for a formal visa.
