Pakistan Government Announces Significant Reduction in Hajj Expenses
In a groundbreaking announcement, Caretaker Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Dr. Aneeq Ahmed, revealed a substantial reduction of 0.1 million rupees in government Hajj expenses. This move is coupled with a commitment to maintaining top-notch facilities for pilgrims, ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience.
Innovative Measures to Enhance Pilgrim Experience
During a news conference at the Haji Camp Karachi, Dr. Ahmed unveiled a series of innovative measures aimed at enhancing the overall pilgrimage experience. Notably, pilgrims will now receive a 30kg suitcase each, and female pilgrims will be provided with scarfs (Abaya) featuring the national flag—a first-time provision. The introduction of a mobile application adds another layer of convenience, offering navigation assistance and constant communication with relevant officials. This app, initially available in English and Urdu, will later include various regional languages, catering to a diverse audience.
Revolutionizing the Hajj Process with Technological Integration
Dr. Ahmed emphasized the integration of Islamabad and Karachi into Saudi Arabia’s Road to Makkah project, a move that streamlines the immigration process for Hujjaj at Karachi airport. Furthermore, the government has introduced a 20-day short Hajj package, aiming to make the pilgrimage more financially accessible to citizens. Efforts are underway to ensure Pakistani Hujjaj are accommodated in tents at Old Mina, addressing challenges posed by the distance to New Mina.
