Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Inaugurates Samalei Project in Sambalpur
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is set to inaugurate the Samalei project in Sambalpur on Saturday. The project encompasses the peripheral development of the shrine, construction of a heritage corridor, amenities for pilgrims, improved temple access, and the development of the Mahanadi riverfront. The state government invested over Rs 200 crore in this initiative, contributing to the beautification and development of the Maa Samaleswari temple in western Odisha.
Acknowledgment of Land Contributors and Record-Time Completion
Expressing gratitude to those who voluntarily forewent their lands for the Samalei project, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik highlighted the blessings of Maa Samaleswari for the people of Odisha. Despite challenges posed by COVID, the project achieved completion in record time. The inauguration follows the Chief Minister’s recent involvement in the Shreemandir Parikrama project in Puri on January 17.
Investment in Heritage and Temple Development
The Samalei project encompasses a range of features, including peripheral development, heritage corridor construction, pilgrim amenities, and the enhancement of the Mahanadi riverfront. The state government’s investment in these initiatives demonstrates a commitment to preserving heritage and advancing the development of significant religious sites in Odisha.
